Athlete Bio

Age: F55-59

Geography: Tristar Athletes Northwest

Country and state: USA, Born and raised in Coronado, SF and Oakland CA (Navy Brat)!

Fun fact: “I am a Certified Pilates Instructor and Movement Specialist. I admit I am a total movement nerd and gait creeper! I just love teaching movement through mind/body connection and balanced muscle control. I am fascinated by watching random people walk, run, and cycle. Lately (about 14 years), I've been really caught up observing incorrect gait and pedal stroke). I really do drive my family, friends and sisters NUTS!”

Number of years as a Tristar Athlete and years in endurance sports: 15

Bio, goals and races: To be a more efficient runner and swimmer! I strive hard just to be the best I can be by working hard and keeping it real.

What races are you currently signed up for?: For now, Oceanside 70.3 and Mont Tremblant 70.3 - still pondering the rest of 2020.

Current training tactics: I'm brand spanking new to TriStar so Megan, my Coach and I, are just uncovering my areas for improvement...I like to think of me as a diamond in the rough! Swim stroke efficiency is first, HR training on the run and Watt's on the bike would be my go to.

  • Tell us more about your training and racing history and accomplishments: I learned to swim and ride a bike in 2004 and have been racing Triathlons ever since. I've raced many sprint, Olympic, 70.3, 70.3 relays, 24 hour relays, half marathons and trail marathons over the years. I've enjoyed Wildflower Olympic 3x, completed Escape from Alcatraz and finished all 5 passes of the Death Ride. Some of my favorite 70.3's have been in Northern Ca where i currently live; Santa Rosa 70.3 ,Santa Cruz 70.3, Vineman, and in Hawaii, Lavaman in Hawaii 2X's where i qualified for Olympic Nationals in 2018. Just last November I completed my first full Ironman in Arizona!

  • Your favorite training, camp or racing memory: Favorite race memory has to be IMAZ 2018 because it is still just so fresh and so epic! I went into the race with a significant hip injury and was not able to run for 8 weeks prior to my event. I crossed trained like a demon and when race day came I had the no doubt that I wouldn't finish. I was grateful for every moment during this race and for everyone I met on the course. Finishing is something NOBODY can ever take from me!

  • Other : I'm love my triathlon community, love my friends, my tribe, my two grown boys, husband, Lab and my puppy Aussie. I am GRATEFUL to be able to express my joy in movement and to be able to run, jump, cycle and swim. I don't take a moment in this life for granted and want to continue to share my passion for movement with my clients and with my peers.
