"THE GREATEST DANGER FOR MOST OF US IS NOT THAT OUR AIM IS TOO HIGH AND WE MISS IT, BUT THAT IT IS TOO LOW AND WE REACH IT.”
Our coaching philosophy is simple. We want to help you aim high, reach your goals, and make training a journey that is rewarding as the triathlon itself. Triathletes are complex but training for triathlons doesn’t have to be. Training should compliment a person’s lifestyle, not complicate it. That is why we customize every program to the individual.
It’s hard to believe that a sport could offer so much. Swimming, biking and running are activities that most of us enjoyed when we were young. Now, in the sport of triathlon we can recapture a part of our youth. In triathlon we find fitness, competition, and personal achievement. For many of us it can also be the perfect activity to restore balance in a hectic, stress filled life.
The first job of a coach is to listen! We recognize that not everyone is looking to be world champion. Rather, the majority of us are looking to stay healthy, feel good, experience a personal best and ultimately live longer. When we feel our heart beat with every stroke, pedal and stride, we feel more alive. Having fun, exploring physical boundaries and gaining the skills to race faster are important goals for our athletes. Therefore, we create periodized programs, which safely lay the groundwork for an athlete to attain achievable goals as well as lofty ones.
For advanced athletes seeking to realize their ultimate potential, and the thrill of competitive victory our coaches are dedicated to elevating performance to the elite level. Here is where our own status as experienced active racers comes into play. We have participated in World Championships and know what it takes. Detailed race preparation, proper nutrition and hydration, and race savvy strategies are all as much a part of winning as training itself. A coach’s job is to teach and motivate you to achieve greater success than you can on your own. Sometimes that can also mean protecting you from yourself. Ignoring injury is the surest way to wreck a season. Our job as coaches is to get you to race day in the best condition possible, mentally and physically, so you have the optimal chance for success.
All the best!
